It seems that the basketball legacy Michael Jordan created won’t end with his retirement. Marcus Jordan, the son of the six-time Chicago Bulls champion and NBA legend, led his high school basketball team, the Whitney M. Young Dolphins, to a 69-66 victory in the Illinois Class 4A championship on Saturday, according to the Associated Press.
Daddy Jordan sat in the bleachers, clapping his hands with real tears in his eyes. The 6’3” high school sophomore wore a No. 11 jersey and prescription sports goggles during the game, shooting left-handed without wagging his tongue the way his famous dad used to do.
"They don't consider themselves following in my shoes," the NBA legend told USA Today. "They play a different game than what I played. Obviously, they're young; they have strong passion for the game. . . . I just want them to be themselves, and so far they have. I think they enjoy themselves."
